The Best Places to take Kids on a Rainy Day in Sacramento

While Sacramento enjoys plenty of sunshine, we certainly get our share of rainy days this time of year. If you are searching for activities to get the kids moving and learning, take a look at this list of some of our favorite indoor, family-friendly spots.

Get Moving. Channel your inner speed racer and challenge your friends to a lap or two around the track at K1 Speed indoor cart racing or jump to your heart’s content at Sky Zone trampoline park.

Learn Something. Sacramento has several kid-friendly museums – our favorites for a rainy day are the California State Railroad Museum located in Old Sacramento, the Crocker Art Museum, the Sacramento Children’s Museum and the California Aerospace Museum. All have wonderful spaces for kids.

Get Creative. Does the rain bring out your creativity? Head to our favorite art spots – artBEAST Children’s Studio where creativity practically oozes out in such an environment, or ReCreate where creativity is sparked with recycled materials.

Pretend its Summer. Splash in the indoor, heated pool at the Sacramento’s Central YMCA or get your rock climbing in at downtown’s Pipeworks.

Let kids be kids at John’s Incredible Pizza where they can run around, play games and eat all at the same time, or  at Monster Mini Golf where glow-in-the-dark miniature golfing entertains even the youngest of kiddos.
